Stash Report

Wicker quilt is finshed and ready for quilting. This will be a charity donation. Thanks again to Sandi for the donated kit. Wicker was a fast and fun pattern to put together using 1.5" strips and 2.5" strips. There is also a smaller version for a baby quilt. I can see making a few more of these for charity.

The next batch of paper pieced blocks for Dear Hannah were finished this week. More to come as I am about halfway done with all the blocks.

Nothing added to the stash. Still in the black for the year!

Used this week: 10 yards.

Design Wall

This week more applique blocks for Dear Hannah were prepped. I am also making progress on the Wicker quilt. Blocks were started yesterday at my Tuesday Sewing group and hope to get the quilt finished up this week.

This week is one of Sandi's cross stitch quilts on the longarm. Isn't it a beauty?

What are you working on this week?

More Applique blocks prepped and added to my stack for future hand sewing on our next road trip. I am hoping to spend the next few weeks getting all the applique blocks prepped. Have about 20 more to go.

Nothing finished this week and no adds to the stash. Hope to make progress on the Wicker project and maybe do a little cutting for the next charity project.

Design Wall

More Dear Hannah blocks on the design wall this week. I am slowly working through the paper pieced blocks and also prepping more applique blocks to take along on our next road trip.

During my sewing group on Tuesday, I am working on the quilt above as another charity quilt. This is called Wicker and the kit was donated by Sandi. It is a pretty simple design and should go fast.

Happy Sewing.

Stash Report

Little Colorado River.

Last week was by Birthday and we spent it on a little getaway to Greer, AZ, about 4 hours away in the White Mountains.  We had a lovely time, with a hike along the Little Colorado River, a great birthday dinner at Molly Butler's resturant, a visit to the museum in Springerville, and of course some shopping at the quilt shop in Egar, AZ. The only downside was the wind, we had gusts up to 50 mph.

These were the purchases at Quilters Haven in Egar, AZ, a cute little shop with a nice selection of fabrics. Most of the fabrics above will be used as backings for some smaller projects that are in the works. So here is the damage for the week.

Used this week: 0 yards.
Used YTD: 29 yards.
Purchased this week: 7 yards.

Have a great week!

Stash Report

This was one of the more difficult paper pieced blocks from Dear Hannah. Blocks finish at 4.5", so you can imagine how tiny the pieces were. I think it turned out pretty good, but it did take a couple of hours just for this one block. Yes, a couple of hours! Only 93 pieces!!!!

Nothing added to the stash this week and nothing finished. I will be heading out on a short Birthday trip later this week, so may have an opportunity to hit a few quilt shops on the way.

Desigh Wall

Yesterday at our chapter meeting we celebrated 40 years of Sunrise Stitchers. There was a slide show of past events, a wonderful Lunch and cake. Also shared were all the projects made from BOM's, workshops and challenges during the past 40 years. I shared the tulip quilt below, from blocks that I won a few years ago.

We were all given this cute pin as a party favor.

This week I am working on Dear Hannah Blocks. Below are some of the applique blocks prepped and ready for hand sewing. They will be a take along on an upcoming trip.

More to come...... Happy Sewing!
