Design Wall Monday May 28,2012

Happy Memorial Day and a Big Thank You for all those that have served!


This quilt will be going up today on one of the walls in my house. I usually get the red/white/blue quilts up before Memorial Day and will take them down after Labor Day. Just a little behind this year!

This week finds me still working on the Woodland Clover quilt. I now have 30 blocks complete and some of the units done for the border section. I have a great shamrock fabric that I will be using for the inner border and the outer border. Below are the completed blocks and the fabric.

Nothing to report used this week, but I do have to confess to a couple of new additions. Could not pass up the Cheddar fat quarters, below,  and needed a few more dark greens for the Woodland Clover quilt.

Design Wall Monday May, 14, 2012

This week I will be working on Woodland Clover, a Pat Speth pattern.  I was able to take a workshop with her last Wednesday and got a pretty good start. I am using up my green stash for this one and will keep making blocks until it is used up-maybe another 20 or so.  It is set with neutral sashing strips and has an interesting border- Will post more photos as I make progress.

A Very Happy Mothers Day to all!!

This week I get to claim a finish! My Birthday Quilt is complete and in the quilting que.

Purchase for this week was a Fat Quarter pack of neutrals. A girl can never have enough neutrals when making scrappy quilts! Will be trading 2.5 inch strips with Sandi over at Kwiltnkats. This will give both of us more variety.

Sunday Stash Report April 29, 2012

Not much to report this week. I did give about half a yard of a pink dot batik to Sandi over at Kwiltnkats, for a project she is finishing. Still no finishes yet this month to claim. Good thing is, I have stayed out of the quilt shops, so nothing to add.

Thought I would share one of my favorite Spring Quilts that is now hanging in the house. This was a block of the month completed in 2005. All the blocks were pieced- no paper piecing! Some were very challenging and I had to do them over a couple of times to get them right.

This week I have a finish to report. I finally got all the blocks sewn for Chunky Churn Dash quilt. Put the borders on today and hooray it is done. Well almost, still need to quilt and bind, so it will go into the que. No purchases to report- have not had time to visit any of the local shops!

Design Wall Monday April 2, 2012

On my design wall this week, I still have the Chunky Churndash blocks. This is pattern is free on Bonnie Hunter's website. The hourglass blocks are now completed and I will start sewing the rows together this week. Hope to have this one completed this week!
